Charlotte Withey

I offer a safe confidential space to allow you to explore and share your thoughts and feelings without judgement while feeling secure in a space you can trust.

As a counsellor I can fully appreciate that daunting experience you may feel with talking to someone about aspects of your life, which possibly you may never have talked about before.

The core of my practice centres on helping people move through the stages of process towards their healing process.

I understand that there will be times when it will be hard or even impossible to talk.   As an integrative practitioner, I have been trained and have experience in suggesting and guiding clients through different ways of looking at what is happening and to make more sense of it.  Above all though, I aim to respect you as an individual in what you chose to share and how you wish to explore thoughts and feelings during sessions.

What I offer

I am able to offer long term and short term sessions working with different approaches to ensure the development of a beneficial therapeutic relationship with each other. These include TA- Transactional Analysis, Person Centred, Psychodynamic, Humanistic, CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Play Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy.

Although I use these approaches my core approach is Person Centred, which means that all our sessions are client lead and allows you to explore and look at self. This allows us together to explore and learn more about you.

What to expect in our first session

I offer an initial 30 minute assessment free of charge to understand your current difficulties and talk together about what sort of help you are looking for.

Following this assessment we discuss whether you are happy to continue therapy.

With school sessions i will always try to meet with the parents if suitable or have a meeting with the person who has referred the child.

We then will make a therapeutic contract setting out the cost, location with date and time and possible length of work together as I offer long term and short term counselling.

The sessions will last for 50 minutes and usually on a weekly basis.

My fees are £40 per session for Adults and Children and £60 for Couples.

Consessions are avavilable for Counselling Students.

Play Therapy Sessions at schools are charged at £50 per session.

(This can be arranged via schools directly or i can arrange this within a school setting)

Fees are payable by cash or Bacs at the start of each session.

(I have limited concession places available)

I have a 48 hour cancellation period before full payment is due.
